Another win for Kendrick Lamar!

His hit diss record ‘Not Like Us’ could reportedly be eligible for a Grammy. During a recent interview with TMZ, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. discussed the record’s potential for a Grammy.

“Obviously, it’s a hot record, it’s amazing artistry,” Mason Jr. expressed. “Great writing… Incredible.” He goes on to mention Lamar’s previous Grammy’s success. “You got an artist that’s been nominated before,” Mason Jr. noted. “He’s been successful with the organization… I don’t see any reason why it couldn’t be.”

He continued: “It’s impactful on so many levels,” he explained. “I like to believe the Academy members recognize that.” 

What started off as a diss record towards Drake– ultimately turned into a united force for all of California. We previously reported that Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert was a culture shift for L.A. artists.
