Actor Jaalen Best has revealed that he needed the personal approval of Muhammad Ali's widow, Lonnie Ali, before securing the lead role in Prime Video's new series, The Greatest.
The 28-year-old was selected after an extensive 18-month casting process involving thousands of actors.
Lonnie, who serves as an executive producer, said Best's personality and mannerisms reminded her of the late boxing legend, describing him as the perfect choice.
The eight-episode series, executive-produced by Michael B. Jordan, explores Ali's journey from Cassius Clay to heavyweight champion and global cultural icon.
The Greatest premiered on November 4, marking the first authorised scripted television series about the boxing legend.
