The long-delayed trade sending Kawhi Leonard from the Los Angeles Clippers back to the Toronto Raptors has officially been approved by both teams, bringing an end to months of uncertainty surrounding the deal. The move comes amid the NBA’s investigation into allegations that the Clippers provided Leonard with impermissible benefits.
The trade was initially agreed to on June 30, with Leonard returning to Toronto, where he led the Raptors to their first NBA championship in 2019. In exchange, the Clippers will receive forward Brandon Ingram, guard Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, one first-round pick swap and two second-round picks, according to an ESPN report.
