Mariah Carey Defeats Brother's $20M Lawsuit Over Explosive Memoir Claims

Pop superstar Mariah Carey has secured a legal victory after a New York judge dismissed a 20-million-dollar defamation lawsuit filed by her brother, Morgan Carey.

The case centred on allegations made in her 2020 memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, including claims about her brother's alleged involvement in drug dealing and criminal activity.

The judge ruled that Morgan failed to establish that the singer knowingly published false information or acted with reckless disregard for the truth.

Carey's legal team welcomed the decision, while her brother's attorney has confirmed plans to appeal the ruling.
